In case you haven't discovered it, we want to alert you to the Reston Patch, an on-line newspaper that concentrates on the local things. You know, the kids from YOUR area who are doing amazing things and the adults from YOUR area who are making this a better place to live? Or how often do you hear sirens and want to know just what happened?
If it's happening in and around Reston, Patch will cover it. And starting today, Patch is allowing our blogger to blog there as well. Hopefully, we'll get people excited about the library and becoming a Friend of the library. If you haven't done so yet, how about clicking on the sidebar? We'd love to have you join us!
And don't just click and give money (although we really appreciate that), get involved! We have so much fun every book sale -- come be a part of it!
We are an active group of volunteers who support our community through blood, sweat, and year-round book sales. VOLUNTEERS and DONATIONS of books, money, and time are always welcome! Call 703-829-5467.

Buka Passage Rare Book
Buka (in Papua New Guinea, part of the Solomon Islands) is a famous place in anthropological literature. This book of research by Beatrice Blackwood represents the first field study of the people there. Beatrice Blackwood was a noted anthropologist at Oxford University. Her study was conducted well before World War II.
A copy of her book, Both Sides of Buka Passage, has been donated for our book sale.
How do we sell such rare books? We have an Amazon site See this book by clicking HERE and many other excellent choices (remember Father's Day is coming), by clicking HERE.
