Of course, you know that for the Reston Friends, this is a smaller sale and we like to keep it FRIENDLY.

So leave your scanner in your car and prepare to limit your purchases for the first several hours.

Cash or checks -- no credit cards (ATM on site).

And be nice. There will be children learning from your behavior!

VERDICT -- SUCCESS

By all measures, the Charly's Attic Sale was a success.  We made some money (over $1300) and cleared out a lot of space for more donations. It was interesting to us that some patrons cared not a whit that some books were old and broken -- if it happened to be something that interested them, they snapped it up!

Thanks to the volunteers (Chloe, Dave, Julia, Valerie, Kari, Maureen, Nan, Mary Ann, Helen, Pam), the library staff, and the patrons!

Thank you also to the artists of Altered Artist and to the folks who came from Art Attack of Prince William County.

It might take us another eighteen months to accumulate enough stuff to do this again, but we'll let you know!

This Friday, July 15, at 10am we will begin our grand experiment -- the first EVER Charly's Attic Sale.

This sale features all kinds of things that have been donated over the last eighteen months that aren't suitable for our regular book sale, but just might have some value to you, our discerning patrons!

Come join us to investigate the treasures. Let your imaginations run wild as you consider how to use these bits and pieces in your art work, scrapbooking and who knows what ...

The sale will run Friday and Saturday, 10-5 and Sunday 1-4.
